Rock Island, IL Brewing Co. Beer Serving Tray. Pre-Prohibition, Ca. 1910.

WOW! Here is a beautiful metal serving tray from the Rock Island Brewing Company holding a glass of R.I.B. beer as the rocks behind it have R.I.B. advertising on them. There are not many breweries which used Native Americans on them, but there are many that did during the pre-prohibition era. So collectors have these images on serving trays, lithographs, self-framed tin signs, and other assorted advertising pieces.

The Rock Island Brewing Company was a formidable force in northern IL prior to the start of Prohibition. Started in 1893, the brewery put out a lot of advertising in their 27 years of business. Unfortunately, like all of their competitors, the brewery was closed with the start of prohibition in 1920. Sadly, collectors have to wonder how many other great pieces of breweriana this company would have put out in that era if it had not had to close their doors. If you have any early Rock Island Brewing Company advertising beer items, I would be interested in purchasing them.
