The Vitrolite Sign Company

The Vitrolite sign was made by The Meyercord Co. which formed in Chicago around 1900.   The vitrolite style sign is best known to have been used for advertising in a corner sign style, which was curved, and meant to hang outside. Some of these signs are able to be lit up, and some are not.  Vitrolite style signs have brass frames surrounding the glass advertising section of the sign.   The signs have wood frames behind them to assist in the hanging from a building.
