American Wine Co, Self Framed Tin Sign, St. Louis, MO
Self Framed Tin Metal Sign from the American Wine Company in Saint Louis featuring a beautiful lady and the Cook’s Imperial Brand of Champagne which was their flagship brand at the time. The American Wine Company was one of the nations largest wine producers and they sold their wine far and wide. After prohibition the Cooks Imperial brand was one of a only a handful of wines that survived prohibition and gave them a large market share for quite a few years in the Midwest. This is a rare sign and the only one of this version I have ever seen. Ca. 1900.
