The Liggett and Myers Tobacco Company produced this gorgeous oak wood advertising clock for their Star Brand of Chewing Tobacco, circa 1900. This sign apparently was not designed to last for too long considering they put have the price of a 2 ounce pouch for 5 cents in the design. The Star Brand of tobacco was most known for their bright yellow advertising porcelain and tin signs, which are still commonly found even today, oftentimes with a small local merchants name attached to it. The Liggett and Myers Tobacco Company was based in St. Louis, MO with a major presence in Durham, NC also.
